I know this question is really hard to answer. Before we get to the possible tips of how to remain motivated, let us first understand why motivation is so much essential in order to achieve what you have been yearning for for a long time.

Achieving something small or big requires a lot of dedication and perseverance. But do you know how this dedication is going to come? It can come only when you are highly motivated. Motivation leads to dedication and determination which ultimately helps you in reaching your desired goal. Let me give an example here.

Roger Federer, who is currently 40 years old and one of the greatest legends to have played the game of tennis, still did not retire from the sport he loves the most. In tennis, many people used to retire in their mid-30’s. However, since Federer is extremely motivated to perform well at this age even after his two recent knee surgeries in 2020, he has been training hard to make himself 100% fit. I really hope he can win more Grand Slams!

I hope you now understand why motivation is the building block of a person’s success.

Now let us see how a person can remain motivated over a longer period of time. I am giving below some pointers based on my personal experience.

Remember your goal and its importance

If you think you are feeling low or demotivated, don’t worry. It happens with everyone. Go for a short walk outside to get some fresh air to boost your mood and try to question yourself why the goal you want to achieve is important to you. If you can figure out your goal’s importance, well done. I know it’s not that easy but you can definitely give it a try.

Share your goal with your closed ones

Try to find a close friend or your partner with whom you can share your goal and who can motivate you in case you are not able to motivate yourself. When you get inspiration from your friends and family, it will surely boost your confidence.

Take one step at a time

Try to break down your long-term goal into multiple short time goals. For example, if your goal is to become the Sachin Tendulkar of cricket, you would need to know all your short-term goals like how to stay fit, how to improve your batting skills, how to improve concentration, etc. So, if you see there are multiple aspects where you would need to focus on to achieve your long-term dream of becoming a cricketer like Sachin Tendulkar. If you are able to keep up with your short-term goals, you would be motivated to reach the next level.

Visualize the end result

Another way to keep yourself motivated is to think about the day when you will accomplish your goal and how elated you would be that day. I am sure visualizing that day will give you that extra boost to work even harder.

Have fun

Having fun is extremely important as well. You should not be constantly working day in and day out without giving yourself a much-needed break which actually you deserve for all the hard work you have done so far. Go to a resort for few days and enjoy the time with your family or friends without thinking too much about your goal during that time. This break will relax your mind and will energize you more to focus on your priorities.

Listen to motivational lectures

There are hundreds of thousands of free motivational videos in YouTube. You can listen to any of them. My favorite channel related to motivational content is Sandeep Maheshwari’s channel. The way Sandeep delivers his speech makes me more motivated to pursue my dream. I am sure you will also feel more energetic and motivated after hearing his speeches.

Conclusion

I hope after reading all the pointers above, you are feeling more energetic. Never just give up and follow your passion. When one follows his passion, success is bound to come. Hence, keep yourself always motivated.
